The Criminal Justice Program, an AFSC project, monitors the DOC and focuses on prisoner advocacy, public education and systemic change. The Criminal Justice Program does not provide legal assistance or legal advice. It provides prisoners and their families with self-help materials; makes referrals to substance abuse treatment and ex-offender support services; encourages prisoner self-help organizations; and does some direct advocacy with DOC and local courts concerning health care, parole and other conditions of confinement issues.
